Be it weddings, engagements, birthdays & so on. These are the types of events that brings the family together & this past weekend, I was lucky enough to witness it first hand.
Before I begin, let me first, congratulate my friend, Dian Ristina on her engagement. Never in my life have I've seen her this gorgeous! Kudos, to her make up artist!Usually she's only in berms & t-shirt, throwing down on the floor with sleek moves. I wish you all the best for your wedding preparation. May Allah make the journey easy & meaningful for the both of you. Congrats, Dian & Man.

A full family affair. From make up, to decor, to food. Every single detail was a family effort! I have never seen such a strong bond in one family. I was really glad to be apart of the family affair. You can really see the happiness in Mdm Nina's eyes, as her elder daughter is preparing for the preview to her upcoming big day. Checking each & every single detail and making sure there are no 'bumps in the road' as she flutters around to entertain her guests. Let's not forget Dian's awesome aunties, who were  busy too, ensuring arrangements are placed properly, and that food is enough for all the guests. And of course, who can forget the fab food served at the event! Especially the Goreng Pisang, (that's what my wife told me).MMMMMM.... Makes my mouth drool just thinking about it!

Everything was going to plan, everyone was ready, especially the star of the show, Dian Ristina. Looking so nervous, so anxious but  all glam up & ready for a photo fiesta with friends & families. I remember a moment where, one of her aunt, walk in the room, asking if she needed anything to drink or eat and her reply was, "I'm not hungry." Her reply was obvious that she had a stomach full of butterflies, the nerves! The only thing she wanted was a drink but with a straw, that was what she kept repeating, a drink with a straw. Didn't want to ruin her gorgeous make up.

Out of a sudden, an aunt said, that the guy's side is on the way, everyone took their positions. Aunties making sure there's enough space for every to sit. Uncles, preparing for their 'A' game to represent Dian's side & suddenly, one of her aunt stopped, to say, I thought that they were suppose to come at 4+? The reply was simple & funny at the same time, the other side were ready & set to go, so they decided to come in early. I believe everyone was glad that they have every thing ready as well.

As the bus ferrying the guy's side arrive, everyone was prepared, taking position making sure to stand at the right space to get the first class view of the discussion. As they came out of the lift, salams were exchanged & the representative from Dian's side ushered them to be sited while making sure that everyone had a clear view. As discussion went on, a ring was the gift presented to Dian as a symbol of their engagement and a bouquet of flowers with money representing the amount of dowry to be given during their wedding.

Once, everything was done, the gifts from Dian's side were exchange with the gifts from Man's side and of course the photo fiesta continued! That wrapped up the end of the journey for Dian & Man as girlfriend and boyfriend and upgraded their status to fiancee and fiance.(you can 'like' their status in their individual Facebook pages!)

Once again, I would like to congrats both of you & thank you for letting Iz Hatt Photos be apart of your important event. Have fun & enjoy every single step of this meaningful journey!

Thanks to my wife Sofie-eifos for vetting.
